It's like Cinderella met Dali. (with Six-Out)
By Dreaming in Stanzas
And she's just this figure
Dripping a bit
The watercolors leaking from fingertips as she's clawing the walls
And hands clasps together she prays
for a way out.
And he's just a lowly painter of prose
Blending his words into images like magic to kiss her skin
Because she's the most beautiful palette he's ever seen
But what is to become of her
When her pumpkin keeps changing into mice
And her heart is just a clock
So she's
M
E
L
T
I
N
G
Like so much ice
When he's the flame
To touch her is to break her
But he's looking for Once Upon A Time
In the murals of her eyes
She's bleeding metaphors
and he's left with his paint running down canvas
trying to sling the colors the way
she tosses his heart around with words
that make whatever he paints
look rustic.
the way her lips make his body fall to pieces
she is his midnight story
and he can only hope that his
painted poetry can capture the way
his heart pools for her.
it's almost as if brushes add texture
to what is already perfect
so he wants to just dip fingers in
and press them against her skin
to keep her from disappearing
when the night ends.
and he wants to hold her tight.
speaking the syllables that make up her name
because some things
you just can't capture with paint.
or pen.
so he whispers what ifs.
she sighs.
and the seconds tick.

...the title boggles my mind: what a convoluted animated feature that would make! artist & poet as lovers is a beautiful romantic theme...

Never thought of Dali as a prince charming before... This was delightful to read both your voices work well together. The imagery and metaphors are excellent - XXOO

This is artistry at its finest, I wish I was a jack of all trades, and could dip my brush in rays, but when I put pastel to plaster, it decays before my simple eyes, so still I write. Thank you for illustrating colours, showing us a mural, behind which holds endless substance, but by wary eyes will never be seen
