My Sweetling

By Mistress Harlequin

My Sweetling.
My head rests aginst your heart, its beat is my lullaby.
It sings to me.
Hear me my love, for here I am.
My warmth will thaw your frozen heart.

I reach up to you. Your godly face. Caress your cheek.
You make my nightmares go away. Allow the light in.
Before you, my dreams were just dark dances of creeping colors.
Now, my colors are sweet. There you and I.

You saved my life. You know how many ways.
You cured me, my hate and fear.
Now its my turn. I will always save you dear.

Fight off the dark for me.
And in return I will fight yours.

My Sweetling.

The idea that the heartbeat sings - someone is your melody - so relatable. That unquenchable feeling that someone brings a structure and purpose to your life! Lovely.
