You search forever
for the garnet in Times Square,
and don't find a speck.
February
The words “I love you”
weigh heavy like the asphalt’s
neapolitan.
March
Absinthe in the hills,
in between the bloodstones,
runs forever green.
April
Bridging the chasms,
eight legs of acrobatics
fear the coming storm.
May
Last April’s showers
come to, in morning glory,
ending for the sun.
June
Antiques from the kiln
dance with mirages of men
over Tartarus.
July
Blooms connect the dots,
tousling strands of cosmos
between each petal.
August
Perseids return home
with peridot at their core
of double vision.
September
Nature stops being
so chintzy with her maple,
and rust comes falling.
October
Autumn had undone
its paper scarf, unwrapping
its bittersweet truth.
November
Atypical words
become cranberry sonnets
of a mother’s arms.
December
White confetti finds
its fiber optic lover
somewhere in the pine.
