Don't Leave Just Yet

By lupus tenebrae

Through my whispers,
I imitate locusts,
to make new friends,
to keep new friends.

The others flew away
on hummingbird wings,
to brighter halos,
to cloudy halos.

All the bridges I’ve burned
still smolder, and crack
in between sobbing
and in between snarling.

Don’t leave just yet,
my promise to keep,
that I’ll get better,
that I’ll be happy.

Even being so positive isn't enough sometimes, my demons still find a way out of me. Sorry, a bit on the venting side.
