Who needs pitchforks when you can break me with words?

 "She's catching stars in her eyes again."




but they can't let her burn
it's like her brightness is 
tearing
them
a p a r t

so they only do the natural thing and 
rip
her
a p a r t

and when she's tatters
only shreds
only remnants of who she was
they wonder




"Did we ruin her enough?"




so they come
armed with lemons
and salt
to torture her into oblivion

and just when the wounds start to heal
just when she's almost whole again
they ask themselves.




"Is she starting to shine again?"




so they prepare to break her
