Mona Lisa smile

By Melancholic VIncent

A Mona Lisa smile
Hides a deep sadness
Head hanging low
Raises the corners of her lips
When she sees me from far distance
She captures me with such tenderness
Her greenish eyes
Let escape a glimpse of blue loneliness
From the thick dam that covers her swallowed self
Buried into the depths of imagination
By the tyranny of impending violence
Years of ill-treatment
And cynical approach

Love it though when I saw the title I automatically thought of the Julia Roberts movie of the same name...haven't seen it though. But its a lovely piece of work.
