Switching Lanes

By namelessmadi

My eyes are open to the world around
I listen closely
And hear no more melancholy sounds

To be in a dark place
Is like nothing ever felt before
It could break you down even
And leave you scared to know more

I felt like all my shelves
Have been filled with books
The ones that drag me down
And have give me second looks

But enough of the sadness
The worry and the pain
The shelves are clear now
Ready for new knowledge to gain

I still get sad and wonder why
I wouldnt be human
If I never took the time to cry

But hope has
regained through my veins
Like driving a car
Im ready to switch lanes

The road is long
And the books are short
But you can get to the end of them
If you will accept love and support......

Recovery doesnt happen over night
You have to want it
And wake up to the better light

I believe in you no matter who you are
Your just stuck in that lane
in that stalling car...
