The Beast Inside

By devilsrighthand

Life was once a fun and happy game

I dreamed of love I dreamed of fame

But life got the best of me

When I'm laughed at I want to hide or flee

But instead I stand my ground

Feel my heart beat and my pulse pound

Fighting myself not to strike back

But i lose controll all goes black

The beast inside me comes alive

The hate in me starts to thrive

Taking pain out on them all

Even though I know this is the fall

I never braced myself for the land,

Nobody ever gave me a helping hand.

This spoke volumes to me... I know this emotion better than any other... I turn to rage because it eases the pain ( only briefly ) and inflicts it on someone else. I want so badly for someone else to feel an ounce of what I'm feeling and then just turn around and walk away like everyone did to me. Do two wrongs make a right.......???

This seems very reminiscent...days I would rather not remember...thank you for sharing. Its the small victories we need to celebrate, don't worry about the journey as long as you can see shelter every now and then...

Oh man, I dont know what to say Ive never read a poem quite like this. I could very easily say the wrong thing so I guess I'll say this. I've sacrificed myself to preserve my own humanity in a similar story, in the past. Once you build that character in yourself, you will always have it, and people will see it, and these stories will end. Just remember to be the smart one. Great write friend. D&A

Reminds of my former writings, it can be a tantalizing escape, to be sure. The prospect of a vacuum, where only you and your thoughts exist, who doesn't want that? Hopefully, you find the true way to harness your beast, this is a good place to start, coming from personal experience. Scholar

Heart in my throat - I hate bullying. You have a way to cope here I hope so that you don't explode and hurt someone I hope? Those menial enough to inflict their own pain on others are lost souls, be glad you are not one of them. Welcome to DP - a whole community of people who will appreciate your true self. This piece has a gold flow and a good message - EXCELLENT - I look forward to reading more. XXOO Scholar
