No Such Paradise

By Sean Mc Shane

I saw the waves of music comin' when love got in the way
called it ' Monster Fuzz ' back on a blown-out electrical day
Saw  Her in dirty red, high on pills and powder
with a bitter punk like me, strikin' a pose in the shower
behind the real wheel is a fixed winner
always out to look the part with the buffer growing thinner
distorted base musical layout moving against a whatever beat
played out like a young porn queen . . . and they say honey is sweet
Grunt thru loud growls to let her know I'm comin' soon
must spark the flames of the feverish night to fill a fertile womb . . .

". . .  It was quite the show
wish there was more to tell
for now take my hand, Darlin'
                                 we're goin' to find Hell . . . "

With the onset of logical madness blending with inner Peacetime attacks
we realized the road to Hell is too fragile . . . so now we walk the tracks
No need to speak when you just have to forget to remember
whatever is seen must be set free . . . let the cold winds blow the embers . . .

 . . .  Of  a ghost gauntlet, a death-dealing gunner
a shattered light, a full moon summer
a whispered word, an empty dreamscape
a mechanical failure, a technical rape
a burnt tunnel,  Nowhere is Now
crawl in me,  take a bow
from a tower-keep,  to the bottom base
idea dungeons,  a stone chisled face
dark open doorway, trapped under doubt
        golden morning,  stalking souls about
        wavering visions, the horizon recedes
        Orion remembered,  replanting the seeds
darker moons,  a message from before
distant smiles, so shallow at the core
more over there,  parts that fade
finally forgiven,  under the blade . . .

And who's to say we never happened anyway ?
When I met you on this road a thousand years ago today . . .

In waves of rain,
coming in with a chilled dawn
I could tell Fate was bored with us,
by It's fourth and final yawn
watching our lost thoughts stagger back home
completely insane
from getting lost on the war-torn blocks
of Memory Lane
daydreaming of us
the visions of what could be
falling away in the real light
the way it should be
though the fires we started
no longer give any heat or light
burnt victims still find themselves
lost on the edge of a dying night

We guided one another to this Darlin'
                                              to No Such Paradise . . .
and that thunder you always heard
                                             is your god rolling lucifer's dice . . .

...this is quite a perilous journey thru pain & anger & confusion...left w/ the scars that won't let you forget...

Thanks, FB. Yeah, the situations that caused the scars die down and fade. Too bad the scars don't. Hard to move on with constant reminders. Thanks again. later -

Thanks, M. That's a cool way to look at scars. Hope to feel that way someday. Thanks again, always cool. Til then -

heh.. 'scars are memories you can stare at' I was just pondering this on my route earlier this morning.. when I see comments or references about people's works are like knives slicing open flesh and it all pouring out.. I would have looked at my words as more like scars, constantly haunted by memories.. you like how I avoided commenting directly on the piece and just the author's note. i'm such an ass. Anyway, thank you for sharing :)

Thanks, OS. And I agree. My scars still play a huge role in my present time in one way or another. As far as commenting on the author's note, that's cool. It just jumped out of me at the end, and now I've been thinking more on that, than the piece itself. Anyway, thanks again. later -

Yea, but it was great fun and a constant source of wonderment while it was happening I'll bet? Especially liked your "Memory Lane" description, ultra cool and profoundly personal piece, thanks Sean.
