To Love a Vampire

By Aernor

On the ground,
your eyes stretched,
so round,
your lips fetched
for words - no sound

And I wonder now,
With my life seeping from my wrists into your body.
Are you worth these horrors boy? or are you going to stab me in the back;
I know you know how...

Your face, strengthening,
your prayers, broken,
my vision is weakening,
old love in me, woken,
my world is slowly darkening.

You were mine and I was yours.
Yet saddening words set our spirits alight. In this time I've lost possession.
Only one promise, last to appear before my sight:
"I'd give every drop of my blood to save your life"
