Circus of Mayhem

By Sean Mc Shane

All these broken seasons thru out my time
coming in hard on a heavier beat
Trying to see a million miles ahead
on some downtown dead end street
Casual awareness has ended
the useless cards have all been marked
I know they are still out there somewhere
and the bullet flies in a perfect arc

This fragile earth cannot suppress me any longer
I'm an ancient idea that refuses to cry
Caught between eternal fires and hard rain
My secret wilderness is about to die
Pulling certain knowledge into an open blue dream
falling stars no longer fall too far
trapped in a dead girl's surreal time passing
wondering who the rest really are

Clawing at the walls of her early grave
Her sanity was an abstract gift
seeking the truth of the once and forever
watching explosions from a fading rift
The rewards of love are treachery and betrayal
condemned for your acts of  noble loyalty
Moving violently sideways on a perfect path
treasured, and forgotten like divine royalty

And leading to my mythical demise
trapped in a Spiritual mind's live wire
there is no sunshine above the black clouds
only a circus of mayhem on fire
sensing movement in some musical process
All spectral eyes are following me
they whisper in their ancient voice
a warning that something is swallowing me

This was one of your best I do believe, are you putting it to music perhaps? Pondering the lost love that is perhaps central to the piece, much to consider, thanks SMS.

Thanks, d, for the awesome compliment. As far as music goes, maybe someday. I could shed a little light on the lost love, but I'll leave the mystery be. more doors to open. And thanks for the B-Mark ! Always a high honor. Much apprechiated. later -
