Hawk Inside

By Dilated View

You’ve declined
To recognize
That there’s something in the air
Out where you breathe
Denied great reason
I’ve grown well, beyond your reach
In acknowledgment
Of sudden shifts
Of roles
My soles are well equipped

Why deny my willingness
To thrive beside your frail existence?

You always claimed
You’d move along
While I moved among
And dodged these knives

How frigidly you’ve intersected,
Plotted points, drawn lines, dissected

It seems, to me,
I’ve shattered form
Despite your scornful
Bag of lies

Distantly, in whispering,
I sense a scene of misery

In this systematic
Undertow
I want fate to know
No compromise

I’ll watch hate decide your alibi
I’ll watch blame define your paradigm.
