The Pusher

By freudian-slip

Textbox sentiments seeping
the excitement of the unknown
and all it's anticipatory heavy breathing
yet nothing speaks volumes more than the elimination of your words

and
what you
didn't
choose
to
type

Thrown into a void of sentiments that might express
the frustration
of your antagonistic pretense

I choose to remain still and stoic
constructed barriers immense
but not nearly as powerful
as the sudden sadness I felt
as I instantly sunk into the category of every unknown woman

and so I refrain from typing a response
swallowing tears that abandoned
any common sense

even to me

must be I forgot
often times the best poets
instinctively know
how easily to interpret
an open book

yet despite all that they are able to intuitively see
their greatest of gifts
comes neatly wrapped

in insanity

...what you didn't choose to type... painful, yes, but the crux. "I choose to remain still and stoic.....sunk into the category of every unknown woman". In the old days, this would have been cradling a handset, listening to the silence after dialing all but the last digit... yes?

BTW, have missed this place somewhat, as I tried to avoid it through the "healing" process, but it's so nice to make a return, share my thoughts, and read works like this. Love your talent, lass... indeed I do.
