I wish I could bottle up
all the bad things in your head
and throw them into
an ocean so vast
that they will forever be lost,
forever be floating,
unable to hurt another living soul.

I wish I could mend your heart,
without leaving jagged scars
and gaps
where your pain was.
Scars that would forever remind you
of the life you've lived
and of all the people you miss.

I wish I could take your eyes
and instill in them, the light
that should never have disappeared
in the first place,
so that you may always see
a glimmer of hope,
that beam of happiness
that your eyes have been void of for years.

I wish I could collect all of your tears,
past, present, and future,
and use them to nourish gardens,
massive enough to feed
all of the world's hungry.

Most of all, I wish I could tell you,
I love you,
in such a way...
that you'll never doubt,
that at least one person cares.
