There shall be love

By LostInTime

                                       THERE SHALL BE LOVE

Even as the twilight ravens grin
From their bloody feast
There shall be love.
Even as the ocean laughingly swallows
A blue eyed child
There shall be love.
Even though armies may march as ants
Upon a dead carcass of land
Though our skin may bleed
From the cuts of a thousand wounds
Or the mind convulse from the agony of misunderstanding
There shall be love.
Even as you find yourself alone
In the evening of life
And you are as baskets of sand
In the morning of death
Or you find that yesterdays truths
Are preludes to tomorrow’s lies
There shall be love.
As your hands strike blindly in hate
Seeking to blame your guilt on all but the guilty
Or your lips utter ancient prayers
That the present has somehow forgotten
Even as your eyes become misty things
Weeping in pity for your heart
Even then
As that which you adore walks slowly
Into nothing but memories
Even then
There shall be love.
