Figurehead

By Feral

Starboard, bow-perched on seaward vessel,
fixated: motions of rocking waves.
The familiar shock-chilled salt spray sting,
scents in liquid crushed shells,
glasswater and life.

Fingers clasped to air...
This is the chanced threat of falling from cliffs
that I live for, with
wild abandon.
Undulating hips, balancing ship
Matching these feminine waves.
As titian flies,
longing to dive too deep.

Skyward,
echoes of a distance that remains undefined...
I watch clouds form and gather
I see the immaculate, sun reflection star-side
atmospheric caverns spreading, oceans tide
I think of Olórin, the white and the grey
The pure and the real.
Sea sultan, beggar maid.
Two kinds of the same pride.

Slanted, cascading rain tendrils fall,
I am amazed and full of awe. Curved globe,
wild and wonderful swirls of clouds,
ribbons and memories and dust.
Every molecule longs to join the sky.
I wish utterly, to dive: wholly uncontrolled
into the deep luminous grey-green
from the height of perfect beauty.
There are no landmarks to block my view,
to block my yearning need for freedom.

Hypnotized in motion rhythms
I could jump, and swim, and be
I should jump, and live, and see!

...Lightning sparks the water's surface...

Yes!
Jump!
Now!

Freedom sought, wild writhing
Eyes glow wider, instincts flying...

Legs gracing smoothly over- interupted.

"Darlin', I'm gonna need you to put your feet
back on the boat."

So...
Damn...
Close...

Sigh.

Rain.. rain.. rain...
all the hours long
The slashing of this vessel into sea
lends no pity to the tempest raging
within body.locked mind.madness
Peel back the logic, the analysis
Feel!
what do you feel?
I...
silent, too long.
The breaking... I need.
I need to break before I can see.

This storm reminds me of this.
Of.. everything.. that I am, am not.
Not yet, will ever be.
Grey eyes meet steel ocean, storming tossed.
Encompassed by the wholly female... my
genetic need to break, and rain.
Simple need to celebrate strength
And honor, and courage, and love.

Where are you, my mithril wall?
My stone-faced ancestral cliff.
Wholly Cambrian. Welsh,
countless generations removed.
Megalodon, who are you?
I have only held your teeth.

Where are you, that I may crash into you?

The waves of my feminine cresting
would drown the lover unwilling to bleed for passion.
Fossilized obelisk,
You would have me kneel before you would have me whole.

I am terrified of myself in these fierce, frenzied states.
Gathering lusts on the shore, violently passionate.
I could easily rip apart every facade that allows me to move
soundlessly within glaring populations.
Safety built, painstakingly...
Could all come crashing down with
a rightly placed word of truth.

The wild creature within me can no longer be contained
to the musky nights alone.
Come to me - the place in between!

Verily, I must...

Burn in coral waverings
Hammer-headed
Underskin current
Mer...
Changeling.

Widow-walking,
hydra web.

I nod to these Valinoreal yearnings, resting my eyes and in third vision I am there, in this moment none would have known lest you'd written it here...that you did, Sister, that you shared this is...is tears...for every molecule longs to join the Skye and so do I. Perfection.

This is the most amazing, sensual, empowering, frustrated, and vividly analogous piece I have ever read - it ignites in me a fire that changes temperature and molds and connects with it's prose in an ever fluctuating tempo - seriously humbled by this - thank you. ~Withering Petal~

You are brilliant not only in visual art, but in the written word. You capture all the wonder of the artist's eye in this. You are a rare talent, Feral.
