Concrete Angels

By ShadowWalker

 Beautiful death,

Alive and un-dead,

I walk the world,

Where land meets sea,

And sea meets sky,

Concrete angels,

With wings of metal,

Blades created from oil,

And my soul of dust,

Meeting in the middle,

Of a crescent moon,

Machines of plastic,

Replace magnificent gods,

And suits of deceit,

Clothe the animals,

Walking on hind legs,

Skyscrapers rival mountains,

The universe touched,

By gripping fingers,

Pollution of the Truth,

Our hearts beat between bones,

That were sculptured,

By things Lost and Forgotten,

Silver earth and silver skies,

Fumes of design curling high,

This beautiful death,

We celebrate and adorn,

Alive and un-dead,

Concrete angels,

Kiss with crushed copper,

My metal world,

Is a beautiful death.

I love the imagery of a modern metro area as a distopian landscape.
