Let Me Fall

By Malcholm Dark

Lead me on, string me out
Let me fall.

You let me go, see me fall
Falling down, hear me call.

I'm going down, hear me call
Calling you, see me fall.

You lift me up, you let me down
You walk away.

I will dance for you
Spin and laugh for you
Anything you want me to.

PULL MY STRINGS.

Lead me on, string me out
Let me fall.

I want back up, hear me plead
Begging you, see me bleed.

I wait for you, see me bleed
Crying out, hear me plead.

You left me here, a broken clown
And walked away.
.
.
.
Lead me on, string me out...

  • A former member wrote: yeah... the marionette... these lines... they drum the reader into a mantra of helplessness... the repetition and concise structure therein.... so much like the muppet, the marionette... the ventriloquist's best friend... and when the strings are cut, when that burst of vitality that moves us so lets us fall....... then we know just how much a puppet we are... pensive in its simplicity... effective in its structure and brooding style. *bows* I have vodka for this haha ;)

My inner puppet cries out for it's own freedom after reading this. With strongest twine, we are bound, broken splinters, on the ground. Nicely written again my friend, thanks for sharing. Scholar
