Getting Old

By Silver Spectre

I remember when you were 15

I was 15 and we weren’t ready

I remember when you were 20

I was 20, but you were still looking

I remember when I was 30

You were 30 but a new divorcee

I remember when I was 40

You were 40 but still looking

I remember when I was 50

Less aggressive, still you’re the same

I remember when we were 60

I passed on and you’re still lonely

I remember when you were 70

I looked on and still loved your ways

I remember when you were 80

You reached for my hand, asked of me

Please, don’t long for December

Remember winter as we walk our way…

In the words of my grandfather, getting old is fun, being old fucking sucks. I tend to agree with him, nice post, waiting is a poison. Scholar
