My Oath

I sat by your side
While you got situated
in bed,
Your tender hands embraced mine
As you succored
it firmly, against your booming chest.
We locked eyes temporarily
As you gradually drifted off to rest,
I felt
your grip loosen
As I observed contently,
The
way in which your breath held
And escaped your very
chest.
Your luscious,
Vibrant,
Full
brunette head of hair,
Lay motionless against the
sheets,
Stopping just shy of my rear.
I abandoned
all initial plans I made that day
Without the slightest
care,
For to be here with you, at this very moment
I deemed to be exceedingly rare
With my palm
absorbing the pulsating rhythm,
Resonating within your
chest,
In that moment I vowed, to cherish this heart,
Forever in the safety of my caress.
Everything
about your current complexion
Exuded the embodiment
of peace,
Which lead me to wonder
How many
times had you been a victim of grief,
But these thoughts
quickly dissipated
Upon acknowledging my solemn vow,
For
I decided to take a stand
And that stand, begins now.
