Death On The High Seas

By Malcholm Dark

A captured Frigate, "The Lost Doubloon..."

Adrift, without movement
Anchored to the sea floor.

Ship masts stand tall
Naked without sails.

A flag waves in the wind
The skull and cross-bones.

The crew, ordered to the deck
They gather on the port side.

A man is brought before them
Blind-folded--hands bound.

Above them, upon the quarter deck
A man with a peg leg, the Captain.

He shouts forth the order
"Walk the plank!"

Followed by, "AR-R-R-R-R-R!"
A pirate's favorite letter.

He is pushed to the end
Sharks circle below.

He falls with a scream
"AR-R-R-R-R-R-R-R!"

The man is a pirate as well
He broke the pirate's code.

Even if you're starving to death
Never eat your parrot.

He did, now the price
Dinner for the sharks.

What's left seeks the fathoms
And resides in Davy Jones' Locker.

Weigh the anchor
And set the sails!

The crew celebrates in song
A cask of rum is opened.

"15 men and a dead man's chest
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum."

Haha "If your starving to death, never eat your parrot." Sounds like something in a Pirating For Dummies book. Probably the best reason I've heard for making someone walk the plank, write on. Scholar
