Sick Place Inbetween

By unspeakable truth

It was unbearable holding your bloated, scar ridden hand
Even with the warmth, the pureness of touch invited
Life, death, every single sick place in between, where you refuse
To lose, choose, see or be anything other than...

Are you comfortable there?

Imagine the dance we could have danced together
By joining, our unbounded spirits
Dreaming rhythmically of snowflakes and sandcastle sanctuaries

Can you envision it?

Yesterday, I sat at the edge of the fall
Tenderly remembering your face, enthralled
Begged of God, to please let me back in
To be turned away by the harsh cold wind

You were my reckless abandon, the cage that captured my fear
My permission, to keep fortifying the veneer
An empty place I wouldn’t admit
A darkness that I’d rather permit

From the burnt spoon, to the truth in each bag
Reflected back from the mirror and solidified upon a bloody rag...

And with the powder properly placed I shush the tears from my eyes
Once again suppressing torrents of emotion to whisper another goodbye

Those places we stay never last when all we do is look for rest. I suppose it works this way for a reason, you could speculate so much but, even though it hurt's for a time, there are lapses where the pain shrinks to a hum and we remember ourselves and what we are meant to do. stay strong and thank you for these beautiful renderings.
