Chasing Pavement

By nightshade

The pitter
patter
of raindrops on the roof
remind me of how
we used to be
your bright eyes
dancing in the rain
finally cleansed of your
darkness and pain
fully alive
finally free
to be what you choose
chase your dreams
into the night sky
Make your wish upon
the bed of stars you lie
It resides within you
never again to be contained
