Depression

By ColorMeToxic

I can see your soul in all its depths.
Exposed to me through your eyes.
I know things about you,
that you try so hard to hide.
I can tell that you've had a hard life.
I can tell that you still cant cope.
I know how much it hurts inside.
I can tell you want so much to die.
But i also know the power of survival
The hope it gives all who hear of it.
So keep holding on, and don't let go.
Live to inspire others to live through it.

If I didn't know better, I'd swear you were in my head. This one I will read often....

This was very inspiring. It's almost as if you were speaking to me as if you knew me.

  • A former member wrote: I hate how suicide is deemed unholy or wrong. It's an escape. Not a sin. You could be in intolerable pain on Earth, and it still wouldn't be right to some people. I've contemplated suicide many times and I'm not ashamed of it. But, anyways, Congrats on poem of the day.

  • A former member wrote: I don't really have a problem with depression but I understand good days and bad days to an extent. But I liked this piece. Particularly the line "I know things about you." It seems to speak volumes. Thank you.

  • A former member wrote: It was nicely written and inspiring throughout the end. "Live to inspire others to live through it"... wow

  • A former member wrote: people shouldn't have to hide what they went through but fact is we all suffer in silence to a degree. "live to inspire others to live through it" this sounds somewhat draining when you haven't fully healed.. nice write, good flow

Sometimes we have to touch rock bottom before we are able to start dealing with our problems. Depression can be a hard thing to see but it is certainly felt, to go thru it and come out the other side of that black hole is an inspiration, so keep holding on and live through it. Keep writing. I t will help you shake off all the shit you don't need.
