Poem

By jonLyndon

Slowly, gently, vicious
the city so distant now
bruised in screams
by the severed moonlight
pale vampires for films
waltzing amongst
the cinderella operas

Such infidels
burning to the streets
by taxi cabs & messiahs
waiting for the boodletting
flood
getting head in the backseats
with the darlings

I recall puking when the Velvet king walked by
such an Egyptian eye
he wore tattered on his sleeve
red
& he never saw the guise
or the guys
sleeping with his Dogstar queen

Dandelions have the sparks of black roses;
silence in the halfway in-betweens
where all the kurt cobains go
w/ rotting teeth
to get away from their Love-Hole

So who was waiting anyway?
The coincidence the irony
soaked by venemous nature
we all have the need to bleed
(take showers w/ bullets in our mouths)

No sun stays in my garden,
I must wash my vodka down
w/ bourbon, which starts out
as a kiss.

I like how you write some beautiful lines and then transition to one word it seems to sum it up well. And with that beauty you add in the dirty and ugly human condition and reality in unique prose.

to get away from their love-hole... nicely done... a well written piece as usual with plenty of cool thoughts between the lines... thank-you

I have always been a huge admirer of yours. Everything you write seems effortless, as if poetry is your first, natural language. You always leave me awestruck and reeling with images/memories I never thought I had. I thought I'd finally say something about it since I feed on words like yours. Much respect, Nuri.

Captivating write, this - reflective, thought-provoking, compelling; images of the wanton & wandering wasted, desiring of majesty and brilliance but somehow getting it all tarnished and twisted and dirty somehow, in urban wildernesses, wanting the romance, finding the loss.

Bloody awesome " poem" , the visuals of happenings here sick and tainted. Half obscure..the lost in time city life of night creatures you see slivering down streets like stray cats on full moon night skies.. Shadowy like the alleys and corners.. The broken hearted wasting the lives away slowly letting ?themselves drip deep into some forgotten black.. It will be the death of them.. Such fagotty fools with slit sleeves.. The red mixed in with the powdery substances of absence and synthetic.. More than a nice write..?
