Our Final Hour

Our Final Hour

The Night is slowly dying-
The Dawn is to the East-
Alone, in Silence crying-
The nearly conquered beast.

My home lies dead in plain defeat-
Our castle torn asunder-
A dying king who we shall greet-
Within the wake of Thunder.

Now as people perish so-
A mass of pitied waste-
The Shadows high that now are low-
Proceed with all due haste.

Though high and proud as once we stood-
Storm clouds fill the Sky-
And though we did all that we could-
Now all of us shall die.

A Kingdom that was torn apart-
A population dead-
A sword that struck and pierced my heart-
The ground is turning red.

The Darkness of the Night relents-
And so all Hope is gone-
A sinner kneeling now repents-
Unto a God of Dawn.

The time of twilights slowly setting-
I savor the last of Night-
Advance it forward, Time is letting-
The World is bathed in Light.

The Sunrise to the East I see-
I try to look away-
My Soul is dying now with me-
As we are killed by Day.

Very tragic write, with the rising of the sun, last breaths escape their mortal tomb. Well done my friend, thanks. Scholar

That was wicked, devil. I like how you compare night and day with renewal and death. Nice write.
