A Song For Thor

Song for Thor

Thor, before the sun will come and rise above the fjords-
Upon your chariot you will ride to meet the Jotun hordes-
Forevermore these monsters ride to harry Asgard's borders-
But this day all their cheiftans will fall-

Mightiest of all the Gods, mountain crusher, Serpent foe-
Wherever mighty Mjolnir strikes the strongest bolt of Lightning goes-
With your iron gloves gripping handle shaft with pride-
Screaming out to blackened skies "Onward we shall ride"

With every year ye know no fear, forever growing in might-
Eternal Tempest break the Clouds, banishing skraelings born of the night-
Hammer forged by Dwarves who's skill did rival Wayland's work-
With Sacred Belt dear Friend, ride on, protector of this Earth-

Companion, Friend, Asa-God, Brave leader through the Storm-
True Honor, courage, driving forth 'till Ragnarok is born-
Your glory never fading, through deed and love, prevail-
Through Wintermoon and Summersun, long live Thor, we hail!

A song sung in the chills of dark times to bring light to the people. Though, I must say I didn't understand half the references, I understood the message behind the poem. Long live He, indeed.

I'm reading this for the second time now, I'm still impressed, there is no greater solace for a man then the sea. Cheers for this one mate! ~Orion
