The Walk Of The Living Dead

By Malcholm Dark

I have always believed in logic, though now I am confused
I can't believe what I am seeing, my mind must be defused.
From earthen graves, from death's own sleep
Our loved ones come, our souls they'll reap!
--A night breeds death, The devil gives birth
with feelings of horror and dread.
--Sanity gives way as they rise from the earth
beware the walk of the living dead!

Their decaying flesh and one-tracked mind
Gives way to the hunger and deeds unkind.
How do we defend with no way to fight
How do we survive against evil's might?
--A night breeds death, the devil gives birth
with feelings of horror and dread.
--Sanity gives way as they rise from the earth
beware the walk of the living dead!

Run rabbit run, run far away and hide
No time for logic, let fear be our guide.
With lingering scents from rotting goo
The time has grown short for me and you.
--A night breeds death, the devil gives birth
with feelings of horror and dread.
--Sanity gives way as they rise from the earth
beware the walk of the living dead!

At last I am cornered and all alone
I pray to my god, "please take me home!"
But alas, I am taken by death's own bunch
And finally I become the dead's own lunch!
--The night breeds death, I am reborn
a lust for flesh in the devil's own bed
--Run away from me, but do not mourn
as I now do the walk of the living dead!

Another excellent horror write, just like in all zombie invasions, if you can't survive against them, you become one, that's why if there's ever a zombie apocalypse, I won't be far from a 12 gauge lol, I saw myself right in the middle of them from reading this, well done, thanks. Scholar
