Micro-processed Man

By Malcholm Dark

I was gifted at birth and given a fantastic intellect
I rose above all men mentally, but only in that respect.
As for my body, it was weak and always sickly
And at forty-one I found myself dying quickly.
On the wings of angels, toward heaven's gate I did fly
But, great minds of science would not allow my brain to die.
So I rose above the ashes of my body's decay
Above all men again, eleven feet tall that day!
--My soul is lost forever within this endless dream
synthesized and computerized, a creation of machine.
--Born of flesh and once a man, God help me understand
a metallic body is now envisioned...
                                  behold, micro-processed man!

A rage of terror covers the earth as aliens descend
The armies of the world fold, mans' will begins to bend.
I arise from the mayhem like a giant metal flower
And into incredible odds I unleash god like powers.
So our world is again secure, the great deed was served
Though the stares they shower upon me, have me unnerved.
A planet lives in fear, their chaotic thinking most unkind
I was once human as you, not some creation by Frankenstein!
--My soul is lost forever within this endless dream
synthesized and computerized, for I am now machine.
--Born of flesh and once a man, God help me if you can
a metallic body is now savage derision...
                                 behold, micro-processed man!

With fear upon fear earth's people have gone wild
I must protect myself from the once meek and mild.
Their minds are of children, incompetent and unsound
They cannot be trusted, so I cannot have them around.
Cities of the world fall flat like high-ways being paved
I monster, I--vanquished a people that once was saved!
The dust and smoke settles, comes a call of cool air
I search the world for life, there is no one anywhere.
--My soul is lost forever within this endless dream
synthesized and computerized, forevermore a machine.
--Born of flesh and once a man, God has set the tone
the entire world is now my prison...
                                             behold, I am alone!

Thank-you... I hope technology isn't our down fall... I'm a bit older and I can remember a time when tech stuff didn't rule our every day lives..

Excellent, even a possibility as unlikely as this, seems real to me through your words, I love the progression of how this man, being brought back from the brink of death, was a good thing, but then turned out to be humanity's undoing, very masterful write, of a very bleak future. Scholar

Yes, bleak indeed. Still, it is comic bookish than what I wanted... thanks for the reply.
