Bailiwick of Legerdemain 4: When a Death Shall Die

By Riven Waker

He asked the Devil for the power
To slay his Death Angel

A minor Death as in permanently
And it gave him immortality
Yet there was this angst

Still others would perish
So he asked the Devil
   Again

For the power to kill the Reaper
A major Death - and it was granted

Yet the reaper held the key to life
And with his perishing
So died the city
Swimmingly
Writhing

I felt like I was reading from a ledger of the damned.... which, I'm thinkin, may be just the tone you were lookin for... nice right... stranger eons death may die... METALLICA haha... but really stolen from Death be not Proud by John Donne.
