The 13th year (final)

"nooooo............. don't do it.........AAAHHHHH!!!!!---"

I wake up.
I hate nightmares.

Then the phone rang. It was the middle of the night, so I got up, and went to answer it. Then, it stopped ringing. Peculiar. I thought it was a flaw with the old phone, so I picked it up anyway.

Good thing I didn't say hi, because a conversation had taken place.

"---and that," I heard Gabbie's cut off sentence as I listened in on the conversation.

"So, Nived, I was wondering if you actually did it."

Obviousely she was talking to Nived.

"........Yea I did it. That's why I am here."
"But how? You're such a nice person?"
"......A major thing happened in my life. So I kind of went crazy."
"So, the plan. We have to make sure that Kody doesn't find out."
"......I wouldn't tell him If I wanted to. We would have to go into last resort if he figured out that I killed his famil---"

*CLICK*

I hung up the phone. I started to get nautious. I went to sit down on the bed, and I was sweating all over. I felt pale.

"H....How could he...?"

I was trembling with fear. I began to realize that me being here was just to be babysit, since I had no family.

"He....He used me...!?!"

I felt hot. I imagined that wide, evil grin from back then, the memory in my mind as vivid as if it was yesterday. I really couldn't believe it....

Then, I got another phone call. It was the warden.
"Meet me in the office. Tell your friends to, as well."

And so I did. They both asked me what was wrong, and I answered them both, "nothing..."

As I proceeded to the office, I felt uneasy. I felt light headed, and that the warden would ask me what was wrong. I shook all the way down the hall to the warden's office.

We all sat in lined up chairs. I still felt really uneasy.

She spoke to us, "We're all here today because of young Koddam."

My heart skipped a beat.

"This is his last year here, and -- hey Kody, are you alright?"

My lips were dry, and I replied, "...Yeah...I'm ok.."

She looked me in the eye, "Kody.... do you know something?"

I swallowed hard.

"Gabbie, start it now," she said.

She said , "Step outside with me, Kody."

I went outside, and she said, "In a matter of minutes, your life will change forever."

I winced.

"You will be hit with amnesia in approximately 5 minutes, which gives me enough time to explain. while we are, hurry,
get into the car outside.

She lead me outside, which was surprisingly easy. Right in front of me, I saw a parked car, like this was planned.

".....Hurry! Koddam!"

She grabbed my arm and pulled. We got into the car so fast that it didn't process through my head right away. Nothing did.

"Koddam, I will drop you off at an orphanedge as soon as I can."

She put the car in gear and drove off.

"This entire thing was to take care of you, Kody. You were declared not guilty, because another person was said to commit the crime. I still had to take care of you, just long enough to fill the papers out."

It started pouring. She made a sharp left turn.

"It was just unfortunate that the person who actually killed your family was being kept in the same jail as you."

She made another sharp turn, the rain getting harder.
I was speachless.

In 20 seconds, you will recieve a different name, and be put into an adoption center. You will not remember because of the amnesia food poison that Gabbie put in your food when you ate out about 4 years ago.

"I know that you're confused, so I will recap. Your Name is David Neirad, and you have no family,so I am bringing you to an adoption center.

I then thanked the nice lady, and accepted the ride.

"By the way," I asked, "what is your name?"
