Searching for Solution

By firsthand_account

The rhythm of my life has cost
The luxury of simple trust
Evidence of what was lost
An outline in the dust

Drug and drink have failed to cure
My growing isolation
Affirmations read aloud
Or silent meditation
Afternoons spent deep in thought
And long in contemplation
Due little to, affect a new
Type of stimulation

And even while I dwell in crowds
Where coins rain down from pinkish clouds
The walls I've built inside my chest
Separate me from the rest

If I could reinvent the past
If I could make my fervor last
If desperation faded fast
If fear would loosen up its grasp

Adventure I would hither seek
My nature then both bold and meek
With confidence I'd shout above
The present, past, and future of

A life led by an intuition
Dependent on no such conditions
Prepared for troubles daily met
Instead of crippled by regret
