Dust settles silent

By Iwas

She cried that day.
Most of it I believe.
(I could see the sadness in her drug fueled gaze)
Left over powder clumped heavy on her face.
(I didn't tell her)
She asks for a hug.
Smiling I oblige.
Telling her it will work out fine.
(I lied)
Hell Broke lose later that day.
So pretty so sweet.
(I could sense her pain)
To much anger, to much strain.
(I watched her leave)
She lived no more that starless night.
The dust settles silent in the moonlight.
(Eternally I wonder If I could have saved her short short life)

To Steph
R.I.P.
(I'm sorry)

So much of this morning has been this theme. Carry not the guilt, this world hurt, now it doesn't hurt anymore. Thanks for speaking it out.

this is my favorite of your pieces. its raw and emotional and real. a still life of a stilled life. beautiful in its tragedy.

This had a serious collision at the end. I really enjoy poetry that makes me feel something. However the hurt and pain in this make one happy to be alive and breathing. I am also sorry for your loss.
