the sound of my name in your mouth

By disposable

the sound of my name in your mouth
makes me believe in destiny
and in the smaller things
that hands can hold
and cannot hold
like the warm reflection of sun
on the underside of a buttercup chin
and the precious frailty of baby birds
in their crooked and precarious nests

the shape of me in your eyes
makes me dream of fate
and of the finer things
that minds can see
and cannot see
like the excitement
of inching toward a first love
and the texture
of trees as if they were downy velvet

the thought of me in your heart
makes me hear the sounds of sleeping gods
and the tender things
that souls can feel
and cannot feel
like the quivers of the earth
in anticipation of a quenching rain
and the beat

beat

beat....

of all lovers crashing together
in one glorious
and perpetual song

Ah there is a reason to live! but is it the subject of your poem, or is it your poem?

Such a divine piece. You capture perfectly little capsules of time that one holds dear. And I got a shiver thinking back to a moment hearing my own name on someone's lips who I thought loved me.

Ithis has such sweetness. Like pure love with out the underones of distrust and cynicism that so many have. beautiful

I love the innocence in which this is written. It could be written from a sixteen year old feeling love for the first time or the dream of love which is ageless. Beautiful and elegant. I love the delicacy of your work and how you leave so much left unsaid.

Truly Outstanding. Reminds me of a time when I believed in destiny and "meant to be." I hope it still exists for some, and even if it does not, that the mirage persists until there is no difference between real and imagined. Scholar
