My Voice

By TheUltimateOutlaw

My voice was bred
On honey and green leaves
The spice of summer storms
White hot across wet black skies,

Livid with lightening;

Is as translucent as
Water reflecting treetops
And sunsets in lurid rippling pools.

And there isn’t a moment of time
When the fear of winter
Isn’t burning in my throat.
