Flightless birds

By Dejected_Worth

She smiled as I passed
White on white amidst the chill
Angels begging quiet. Oh so quite
Flightless birds perched along
the solemn windowsill

And I will Fly, to and Fro
according to the path you will command
And February left it's mark
As cheap whiskey left it's stain
Pointless talk of when and why
count the souls
As Jesters cry

But you have to want to fall to fly...
Kiss the girl and grab for sky
Even Angels have to fall. To Fly
