ENTRANCED

By lovechild

i awoke in a scarlet haze
adrenaline an icy rush through my veins
a swiftly moving figure cloaked in black
moved through my window; paused and looked back
"one more night, my love, you will be mine"
said his thoughts to my thoughts, vague, undefined.
i slept. the sun rose, hurting my head.
little did i know that i was becoming undead
the day was quite tiring; i was distant, distracted
when somone spoke to me i barely reacted
an ephimereal fog had clouded my vision
like the name on a headstone of a corpse which had risen
night fell. my candle was burning out quickly
my face in the mirror was pale, wan and sickly
the flame sputtered out and i was filled with this yearning
for that which was lost, for rejoining, returning
from the depths of my soul i lay screaming his name
time stopped.the world stilled. he heard, and he came.
i threw open the window and let darkness in
sealing my doom and rejoicing in sin
swift exhilaration and unbearingly sweet pangs ripped through my being at the touch of his fangs
nothing can compare to the weight of our desire
for centuries long past i have awaited my Vampyre
let us lurk eternally in shadows and in mists
as we feed the deadly hunger that we dare not resist
like a rose upon the snowdrifts, on my neck a drop of red
the consummation is complete: i am undead
