A shared burden...

This once was written for people in particular but now is a general message.

In my darkest hour
I remembered how my soul
was the prevailing light ablaze
that made smoldering ashes
of life's obstacles
and kept my love flowing warm
like the blood through my veins

and how friendship sours
as offenses unfold
but I cherish your life anyway

for this heart never detaches
and always tackles
the reason for such scorn
and the meaning of our pain

You know you're capable
...not inescapable
this life you choose to lead

it's unmistakable
strength unbreakable
lies not far beneath

but you focus your persistence
to the path of least resistance
while you're drifting through existence
tomorrow you are someone else
the irony in this is
there are many falls and hardships
but none are quite as complex
as the lies you tell yourself

so you don't have to -
deal with it -
sick of feeling shit-
people tear you down
treat you like a stupid bitch
whatever story fits
who you trying to convince
you must strive to rise
-ABOVE ALL OF THIS!

'cause one day you must decide
on a path you know is right
or continue to just hide
in empty pleasures that won't last

said you don't know what to do
and you hate demands on you
relationships are made of two
make a future - scrap the past

for when your light shines
from the heart
the world around looks bright enough
to see we're diamonds in the rough
and there's beauty in all things

don't stand alone, please don't give up
we get so tired and corrupt
when it's all been said and done
EVERYONE is worth something!!!
