Dirty Road.. a dream i had. 12/24/08

By BethanyBallet

Ever been on a dirt road?
Seen the trucks as you drive by
smelled the pastures
woken with coffee
breathing so light that the room spins
spinning in and out the animals going in and out of focus
their spirits resting in the palm of your hand
the rope of your soul still tied to your fence.
hanging
where you might leave it if you werent home
but what would they say?
...they being your conscience and your true desire...
conflict
they found out why you wanted to do it
they decided not to interfere.
they cry silently in the back of your head
you hear echoes of them
God (doesn't exist) stop the voices! i plea
no! not your god! i simply meant me.
i tried to focus on my goods in life
but the evil counted itself up better at night
why did i go insane
no
stop talking to me
was that conscience or desire
why can't i have both
always always fighting
they never want the best or the same
so i must take their love for me and turn it into plain selfishness
i have the rope from the fence
what is it that i do next
im trying and crying that's just my conscience begining to fade back to me
my brain is working
my desire is with me..
on the pedistal
lambs staring high
since when was it this hard to
cry, tie, jump, die

I had not read this one yet. I need to re-read and think about it a little before I truly comment but while reading it, I was certainly piqued.

Deep, dark and delish. A slight problem near the center--hard to follow. Keep writting.
