It Was In Your Pocket All Along

By Lylani

There is one
Who with cryptic words
And hidden smiles
Embraced me in arms
As strong as steel
As soft as feathers

Who loved me
In stolen moments
When no-one was watching

Who was as honest as a friend
In his lack of good intentions

For I knew
I was his dearest
In times of loneliness
But no more than a fleeting thought
When he was in favor
With lusts conquests

Though we played our games on others
To each other we were truthful
Yet left unsaid the words that would bind us

And so I wrapped up my heart in a silk scarf
Placed it in your inside pocket
Where it has remained hidden for years

For you are the only man who ever knew me

I fell in love with my best friend once. And I fear I'll love her still, when long in the grave. And thought I told her every day, she'll never understand. Not really. I have the same first reaction to all your posts...."She says it so well" ....^V^
