I dreamt of you (crushed velvet and grace)
By Dejected_Worth
Last night I dreamt of you,
Cloaked in crushed velvet and lace;
We made love of every surface of every room,
and I woke with the memory of your taste;
As i wrapped my empty arms around nothing
I found only my own cold embrace.
While the bitter chill of February
mocked my love torn heart,
The echoing silence reminded me
in the midst of love and life,
even lovers lie apart.
No sad bard's ballad could encompass,
the full spectrum of emotions,
I feel... Or wish I felt
on mornings of loving madness;
But I know somewhere in the still of a Juliet tomb,
A misguided Romeo has claimed the moon,
for his unriquited Bohemian truth;
And this mirror now reflects a sorrowful face,
For last night I dreamt of you,
Cloaked in crushed velvet and Grace.
