Never ever after

By Lylani

I'm sorry I don't love you enough
And I don't wish I did
So I'm walking away
I won't be looking back

The good memories shattered
like your face in the mirror
And the bad ones burn
like brandy on Christmas pudding

Fierce
and
Blue

I know this is ending badly
I'm sorry that you blame yourself
in this never ever after nightmare

But I finally realize
I'm not responsible for the things you choose
You're not a dandelion clock in the breeze
You're the scarecrow that the wizard gave a brain

so be a man
stop blaming the world for you
because if you give yourself a chance
you could dance with the stars
instead of shooting them down

stop trying to be someone else
you have nothing to prove

one day I hope you realize you're not broken
you're just not who you expected to be

I especially loved the power of these lines (you could dance with the stars instead of shooting them down) what a slap in the face this is. It feels criminal to quote just 2 lines though, this drips with wonderful imagery. I loved this piece.
