I am the dripping words on your chest,
written off in the shower's beads
before you get up

get out and get dressed

don't cry for me
It's just that permanent marker fades too fast
like broken footsteps on these lonley streets
this wasn't meant to last
you were never mine
like childhood memories
I'm fading all the time

I am the child in your arms,

your gentle teeth, they pull at me
I was feeding at your heart
how quickly a mother tears, her child apart

broadway's lights fade like dying lightning flies
dying from my sight
drawn to a weak gold flame
my steps are eaten by the same deep night
drowning all the echoes in it's wake
While my mind wraps itself in you

and I'm still walking,
away from you

you love the way he smiles
you love the way he touches all your scars
you love the way he loves you
you love the way kisses at,
your
open
heart

you love the way he only looks at you
and it tears
me
apart

I smoke two packs a day
and try to forget your name
I wrap myself in you and drink alone
I give myself to anyone who wants to take me home

I face the phantoms in my sleep
My nightmares forget to let me dream
I walk down empty streets
trying to keep your shadow alive
but If I have to say goodbye
Ill keep you alive in my mind

and I'm still walking,

MY LETTER

I wrote a letter,
and it went the way letters like that go
sad and melancholy,
passionate and slow
I never sent it,
but i just needed you to know,

I am shaking,

but there are no words in this world
that exist, to let the pain escape,
when the mind stops
and the body breaks
when your eyes are so dry from crying
the tears seem fake

and you don't recognize the face in the mirror
because the face looking back, doesn't belong to you

so all the world has wept to sleep
Tears on it's pillow, are the bloodstains at my feet
and i took some pills
and I'm off to bed

because everyone gets tired
when the water gets too deep
when the water starts to drown you
all you can do is sleep
