Deserted Soul

By Scarrzz

THIS THIN VENEER OF NORMALCY

CRACKS WITH MY EVERY STEP

LIKE THE DRIED MUD OF A RIVERBED

CRUMBLING BENEATH MY FEET

HOW APPROPRIATE

FOR MY SPIRIT TOO HAS TURNED TO DUST

WHERE A RAGING CURRENT OF LOVE ONCE FLOWED

THERE IS ONLY DESOLATION

I LOOK TO THE EMPTY CLOUDS

HOPELESSLY DESIRING YOUR TOUCH UPON MY FACE

WITHOUT WATER, THERE CAN BE NO LIVING

AND WITHOUT LOVE, THERE CAN BE NO LIFE

Wear your pain for everyone to see for a while...I've always found that when I've faced my pain...something good always came out of it...it's why I never regret my past...without the bad times...I wouldn't know when I had it good.
