Checkmate

By Scarrzz

Life is like a chess game
Against a sadistic genius

Every move has repercussions
That I don't see as traps

Methodically she takes away
Everything I hold dear

And leaves me in a position
That is unrecoverable

There comes a time in every game
When the ending looms apparent

Now I lose my Queen
I am well and truly forked

I love the comparison of life to a chess game - I've made that comparison often myself and I always find myself wondering why I seem to play the knight that always wants to help but can only move a few steps in each direction.

I like chess so I enjoyed this...esspecially "well and truly forked" lol. Isn't it funny how women seem to know the moves about 4 steps ahead of us??? I'm just a pawn trying not to get captured and taken off the board..:)Snake
