Remembrances

By Scarrzz

I remember when my heart was full of love,
I felt the joy as I gave it away.

I remember when my spirit was full of life,
exploring every path with zeal.

I remember being fearless,
I greeted the challenges of each day with hope.

I remember finding someone that I wanted to share
every part of my body and soul with.

None of that matters now,
She is gone.

The joy, the zeal, and the hope
all went with her.

The life remains, but what is life without those?

Merely a receptacle for memories and regrets.

Thanks for the encouragement. It helps a little to at least share it with someone that can understand. My body is moving on, but the spirit is so badly burned it's almost dead. The pure unconditional love I still have inside is the only thing that keeps my spirit alive. I guess I would rather experience the pain than let the love die. Scholar

Ouch. Yeah, I'd say, it'll pass with time, but that always sounds like a fortune cookie, or a funeral program. All you can do is move on, best you can, and take the life experiences you've gained to heart. It WILL pass. Write on, man.

I was rereading the comments. Five years later I've concluded you are right. It will pass - when I do. Thanks for the encouragement though. Scholar

Another year, still sick at my stomach every day from grief and loneliness. I just can't give up loving her. It was too powerful once I started, or maybe it's the nature of the love itself. Scholar
