Facades (dreaming myself out of existence)

By colorapathy

Corrosive dreams trickle down
Settling pensively within my stomach
Like sordid echoes of twisted steel frames

Their jewel encrusted skin, sallow and gleaming
Digs interlaced patterns through my delicate tissue
Mining away the throbbing swell of life

Their parched bones swollen, splintering
Gorged on shattered fragments of my thoughts
Strewn about carelessly as the petals trampled beneath “I do”

The ever gnawing, ever nagging core of them
Making sawdust swirls of this carbon strung puppet
Until the strings flutters like so many dying moths in the wind

Their hunger coils about their fragmented surfaces
Consuming itself with a fascinating intensity
And leaving behind only the grotesque façade of silence

Great write! I love the flow. The 3 verse stanza's work so well here. Something i love, yet i find hard to do myself. Perfect example of it here tho. Keep it coming:)

This WAS a fascinating read, and carlos hit the nail on the head. But the end left me wanting. I'm not sure, it feels like it fell short of really bringing the hammer down. Maybe that's a bit dramatic.... It felt weak, the end, I mean.

actually.. I agree with you.. its kind of a work in progress. I decided to post it and perhaps come back to it again later.. rather than forcing some sort of ending. I'm sure it will come to me.
