Only Ash Remains

By GraveFlower

when a man meets a force he cant destroy

he desroys himself instead

aching
knowledge of knowing he is being defeated

hurts worse than the defeat itself..

....

scum

cant grasp the fact

that you arent superior

you think your all high and mighty
your a bad ass?

labels wont fucking save you
or defect the fact that you are a worthless piece of shit

along with everyone and thing that has a pulse

5 years later and this one still feels like a brand on me. I sometimes think about this poem, the line about knowing you are defeated... I've thought about that line for 5 years now. It's relevance to my life is uncanny.

Lovely like venom. We are all parasitic in our own way. But yes, knowledge of defeat is more brutal than the defeat itself. So is ignorance bliss?
