when we wrestle with the gods we bring lightening to the skies

By lord_beanus_christ

swiftly, as if nothing
you swipe away the
tender threads shooting
from my arachnid self
glaring at the brazen underlay
leaving me here, shivering
abandoned, exposed.

who would you say that i am?

sound as pristine glass
your voice, unencumbered,
surrounds the space between
me, myself, and eye to the prize.
the waves of your soul
lash against the surface of my mind
and i am left beaten, bruised,
unavenged.

who would you say that i am?

look not at me, but through me
when you touch
my skin
when you hold
my hand
when you establish
my everything.
set your gaze to something
you would rather have,
something worth desiring and-

who would you say that i am?

bring yourself adrenaline joy
and take it from my hands.
you won't even notice
in your most seductive stance
that i was never here.

who would you say i should be?

The title alone was a work of art. The poem was no less stunning. Great job.
